Welcome to the website of the Barbacoa
The Barbacoa is a family-run business established over 31 years ago, and has since developed into one of Liverpool's premier entertainment nightspots. Known throughout Crosby, Waterloo and Merseyside as a quality live music venue with freshly cooked food and a fantastic atmosphere.
The Barbacoa has a restaurant, bar and function room.
On the ground floor is our bar and restaurant. In the bar, we serve a large range of beers, wines and spirits. We also serve our Bar Meals Menu which features 2 meals for £10 on selected items. We pride ourselves on home cooked food, unlike most pubs who use packaged frozen ready meals. Our restaurant serves a wonderful set price menu (please note: bookings are preferred).

On the first floor is our Blundell Room, which we use as our function room (when available the room is for hire only with our in house catering). The Blundell Room can be used for family functions including: weddings, Christenings, birthdays and funerals. The Blundell Room is also used for our regular Salsa Classes, Quiz Nights and our dinner and live entertainment Cabaret Nights. We also serve a Sunday Carvery in the Blundell Room.
The Barbacoa can cater for anything from a quiet meal for two to a sit down wedding for 150 or even a party entertaining 200. Our venue is fully air conditioned with state of the art sound and lighting systems which business users find useful for conferences seating up to 100 people.
The Barbacoa was recently awarded 5 Stars for food hygiene and became overall winner of Sefton's 'Best Bar None' award and runner up in the national awards. We are always striving to better ourselves and this was rewarded when our head chef Geoff Myers won silver in the prestigious 'Salon Culinaire International De Londres' award.
Our 'What's On' page is forever changing, so if you would like to be the first to receive our 'What's On' email notices then fill in the form and send us your email address and we will add you to our database (you can find this on our 'What's On' page).
The Barbacoa is situated a short walk from Crosby and Waterloo train stations, and a stone's throw from the Marine Lake and the famous Anthony Gormley Statues on Crosby beach.
Disabled Access
Entrance to The Barbacoa is by 2 steps to the front entrance. Alternatively, we have a wheelchair ramp leading to a fire exit door which is suitable for wheelchair users. There is a low level door bell to the right of the white doors which once pressed will summon our staff. Once inside, the ground floor is fully accessible to the restaurant and bar areas. A disabled toilet is located on the ground floor suitable for wheelchair users. Disabled parking is available at the rear of The Barbacoa, however, you must phone in advance as this area is not normally open.
Access to the first floor Blundell Room (Functions and Cabaret Dinners, etc.) is via a staircase. We have a chair lift on the rear staircase. Users must be able to either walk to the chair lift or be able to move from a wheelchair to the chairlift. The rear staircase is NOT used by other guests at functions or cabaret dinners, so dignity is ensured. We also have large print restaurant menus for those with sight challenges. We are always pleased to hear from anyone with disabilities with suggestions as to how we can improve our facilities to them.
